CHARLOTTE, NC – December 23, 2009 - Preferred Medical Marketing Corporation (PMMC), a software and consulting services provider, announced that Caldwell Memorial Hospital has selected PMMC as a business partner for improved revenue cycle operations through the implementation of PMMC ESTIMATOR PRO.
PMMC’s patient estimation solution will assist Caldwell Memorial Hospital to enhance the facility’s patient estimation and reimbursement system. PMMC ESTIMATOR PRO, an SQL-based software application, utilizes the healthcare provider’s historical billing claims, patient’s anticipated services, as well as payor contract terms and eligibility information to produce accurate patient estimates prior to service. PMMC’s Interactive Workflow Messaging (IWM) integrates the registration, scheduling, benefit verification, estimate generation, and collection through an automated workflow process. Implementation of the PMMC system will help Caldwell Memorial achieve increased patient satisfaction with the billing process, improved cash collections, and reduced patient bad debt.
Caldwell Memorial Hospital recently developed a Pre-Services Department. Beth Miller, Revenue Cycle Director at Caldwell Memorial explained that, “PMMC ESTIMATOR PRO helps the new (Pre-Services) department to identify patients with financial needs – charitable assistance, Medicare patients, or others.”

The ability to provide patients with a more accurate estimate of their portion due yields greater customer satisfaction in addition to increased upfront collections and cash flow.
