PMMC to Host Workshop on Bundled Payment Success at University of Florida Gator Healthcare Forum

CHARLOTTE, NC (August 15, 2017) – PMMC, a leading revenue cycle management company, is leading an educational workshop titled “Success with Bundled Payments” at the University of Florida Gator Healthcare Forum on September 8th.

The session, led by Roger Shaul, President and Tara Bogart, Vice President of Consulting, will review how the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model works and how analytics and collaboration can be the key to success for healthcare providers participating in bundled payment models.

“PMMC is looking forward to speaking at the upcoming University of Florida Gator Healthcare Forum and sharing some of the best practices that hospitals should adapt to succeed in the CJR program,” said Roger Shaul, President, PMMC.

Objectives of the session include:

  1. Understanding the components of the CJR model and how payment is determined
  2. Understanding the importance of data analytics to value-based reimbursement
  3. Reviewing a case study of a CJR participant’s performance in year one

Hospitals have now completed the first performance year in CJR and the results are a positive sign for bundled payments. Using data analytics and predictive modeling, PMMC has been able to help organizations pinpoint cost-cutting areas within post-acute care while earning a bonus from CMS. On average, PMMC clients have earned a reconciliation of $180,000 from CMS along with decreasing inpatient readmissions by 56%.

As the second year of CJR is slated to begin for hospitals across the country and commercial insurers are seeing bundling as a way to contain their costs, PMMC will continue helping healthcare providers navigate through these programs to improve their quality of patient care and, ultimately, their bottom line.

The Gator Healthcare Forum, hosted by UF’s Department of Health Services Research, Management and Policy and The Florida Blue Center on Health Care Quality, provides an opportunity to discuss healthcare research and administration with a day of speakers, workshops and networking opportunities.
